Global Day of Action

A march and rally on March 15, 2008 to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the U.S. war on Iraq. We also called for Canada out of Afghanistan and an end to all military occupations.

End the Siege of Gaza

A rally on February 2, 2008 calling for Israel to remove the walls around Gaza, causing a health crisis.

National Day of Action Against Secret Trials in Canada

ECAWAR co-organized a teach-in on October 20, 2007 concerning secret trials and security certificates.

Teach-In on Afghanistan

ECAWAR organized a Teach-In about Canada's involvement in Afghanistan on May 30, 2007 at Grant MacEwan College. Dr. Saleem Qureshi (University of Alberta) and Dr. Tony Simmons (Athabasca University) both delivered very informative talks, then answered a variety of questions from those in attendance. RESPECT Peace Rally

On May 20, 2007 two speakers from ECAWAR took part in a peace rally at the Legislature: Peggy Morton and Dr. Tony Simmons. One Right, One Race, One Reason: RESPECT was a peace rally to raise awareness within the community about mutual respect as there is a constant increase in social diversity which in turn will make Edmonton a more dynamic and vibrant city. The event was presented by The Islamic Family Social Services Association (IFSSA) and the Northern Alberta Alliance on Race Relations (NAARR).
